Australia has 12 catchment divisions. One major river catchment is the Murray-Darling. It begins to flow from Queensland, past NSW and Victoria and into the entrance of South Australia. Another is the Lake Eyre catchment area in the East-Central area in Australia. The second largest catchment area is the South-western Plateau in the West-South area located on the bight of Australia.
